![]() (Posted on Monday, March 7, 2005 at 07:19 p.m.) Again I apologize. This blog is supposed to have a new look. But I'm more busy with creating another deck of playing cards—a Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch-themed one. In fact until now, I still forgot some of the names of the Survivors still in the running is Survivor: Palau. Speaking of which.... I make the summary short and sweet because I'm beginning to lose interest in making long stories. Here are some of the events that happened in last Friday's episode: In Ulong:
Looks like Ulong needs more pep, especially on next Friday, another twist will unfold. Once again, The Amazing Race started, and it began in Los Angeles. The teams flew to Lima, Peru and rode buses to Ancon. After that, they flew to Cuzco. After finding Felipe the storekeeper and riding down two flying foxes, the teams either Roped a Llama or Roped a Basket. After a last truck stop at a market, they headed back to Cuzco. Three teams attempted not to get eliminated, but Ron & Kelly managed to pass Ryan & Chuck, eliminating the latter team. Here's the leaderboard as of last Wednesday's episode:
Here are two anime that I want at present on my cable TV, despite not having Animax: ![]() ![]()
This moment's Galaxy Angels screen shots: Hey, Lanhua, that's not Tom Cruise you're... Too late. Ja ne wa! (Posted on Monday, February 28, 2005 at 06:18 p.m.) Well, I apologize for not blogging lately, especially on making my own comments about Survivor: Palau. One thing is that I'm way too uninterested in making more entries, and there are too many snippets and comments to digest. But I can tell you that after Wanda, Jonathan, Jolanda, and (just last week) Ashlee, my two bets Angie the geek and Willard, who are split into two tribes, are staying strong. But for now, before I can go into more detail in the latest episode of Survivor: Palau, I might give more info about this Wednesday's Amazing Race 7, especially on Boston Rob and Amber. This moment's Galaxy Angels screen shots:Millefeuille doing her best Bop-It impression. Ja ne wa! (Posted on Monday, February 14, 2005 at 09:26 a.m.) Last Wednesday, The Amazing Race, the final two legs started again in China, particularly, west to Xi'an. Once there, they go to a Detour where they Paint or Scroll (all chose Paint), after climbing Mt. Hua, the girls tried to open on in a few thousand locks. Hayden & Aaron had problems with their taxi. Although they did catch up with Adam & Rebecca, Hayden quit the Roadblock and Rebecca got lucky. Hayden & Aaron got penalized and were eliminated. Aaron did something he had to do halfway around the world! Here's the leaderboard as of the end of the Xi'an leg:
Survivor: Palau will start on my birthday on Friday and there are many speculations onto what will happen especially on having three going home on the same episode. I don't bets yet, but I'm starting to ogle at Willard Smith (not Will). Well, I can wait. This moment's Galaxy Angels screen shots:Forte and Lanhua doing their best Bugs Bunny impression. Ja ne wa! (Posted on Monday, February 7, 2005 at 01:21 p.m.) Last Wednesday, The Amazing Race left the country of Sri Lanka and into Shanghai in China. Once they found the clue box at a flower garden, teams went window washing at a skyscraper in the city to for a RoadBlock to clean a window and find the word "Tai Chi" in the process. After they found the four Tai Chi senseis at the Bund, they stumbled on an Brick-Ice Detour at Jiang Pu Road to mount some bricks. Although all four teams have trouble in their taxis, especially Kris & Jon, Freddy & Kendra yielded Adam & Rebecca as revenge for them being yield back in Lalibela, Ethiopia. Adam & Rebecca never went back. They weren't eliminated, but they were stripped of their money. Here's the leaderboard as of last Wednesday's episode:
Well, the Race ends next week with only twelve legs? Or let's just say this Race has tweleve legs—one of them having two Detours and two RoadBlocks. And despite the debacle with the taxi driver, I hope Kris & Jon would put that behind them and win the Race. Good luck, my model team! Today, I'm supposed to submit more resumes so I can get a job. But I postponed it to either tomorrow or next week because today, Super Bowl went on as scheduled. I was secretly rooting for the Philadelphia Eagles. But as of this writing, the New England Patriots won it (must be inspired by the Boston Red Sox's win at the Baseball World Series). I still laud the Eagles for making it this far, they came to the Super Bowl 24 years ago. It's too bad they face a team that's equally good. ![]() This moment's Galaxy Angels screen shots:The reason Millefeuille resisted offers on appearing in Survivor. Ja ne wa! (Posted on Monday, January 31, 2005 at 10:39 a.m.) Last Wednesday, The Amazing Race finally left Africa and into Asia through Sri Lanka. Once there, the teams either went for a Detour where they would climb Tree Trunks or play polo with Elephant Trunks. Then after they headed to Kandy (umm!) for an offering, they went to Sigiriya and onto the Lion's Rock Roadblock to look for the Pit Stop (they have to swim first). Lori made a crucial mistake on the Roadblock, causing therm precious time. She and Bolo were eliminated. Here's the leaderboard as of last Wednesday's episode:
It seemed they're going further west of Sri Lanka, but we'll never know until then! Speaking of Kris and Jon, they're now my bets to win the Race (after Lori & Bolo's elimination) because even though they are in a Race, they just don't pressure themselves and even savored the atmosphere and culture (as well as their time with each other). ![]() So far I've answered 39 of this puzzles, all-daily sized. I'm hoping that as I progressed tohrough the magazine and eventually answer the Sunday-size ones, I get better in answering them. This moment's Galaxy Angels screen shots: Millefeuille and Mint: "We surrender, we surrender! We have Bin Laden in our tank!" Ja ne wa! (Posted on Sunday, January 23, 2005 at 08:14 p.m.) Over the week, American Idol finally made a comeback. And to celebrate its return for a fourth season, I made a poem about one of last season's very notable auditions. It is called... (for William Hung) Smile.Everybody knows how William Hung did in that American Idol audition. What happened next is histoy. Last Wednesday, The Amazing Race finally left Europe... and back into Africa. Particularly to the other side—into a village in Ethiopia. First, teams went to a Detour to either Raise the Roof (transporting a roof half-a-mile) or Mud the Hut (cover the walls with mud). After that, they walked to the St. George's Church, a church built out of the ground and did a Roadblock, where they would have to find a monk with a matching necklace. Adam & Rebecca used the Yield against Freddy & Kendra, but it was useless. But rather the ever noisy Jonathan & Victoria were eliminated. Here's the leaderboard as of last Wednesday's episode:
It seemed they're going to India, but we'll never know until then! Ja ne wa! (Posted on Monday, January 17, 2005 at 05:43 p.m.) I'm supposed to post this over the weekend, but since I have no interest in doing that, I decided to do it today (my job hunting continues tomorrow, if I get lucky). Last Wednesday, The Amazing Race went out of Hungary and into the island of La Corse (that's Corsica to you and me). Once in the island, teams will first go into Napoleon's birthplace and then go to French Foreign Legion Detour where teams will either go Climb Up (a wall) or Fly Behind (a Zodiac boat). Then, in the Roadblock, chosen team members would stomp out some grape juice and drink from them. By some loss in direction, Hayden & Aaron wind up last. Then weren't eliminated, but they suffered the same fate as our oldies back in Senegal: they would have no cash. Here's the leaderboard as of last Wednesday's episode:
This moment's Galaxy Angels screen shots: The Angels watch... as Gus (of the Amazing Race 6 takes a bath in the outfield. Ja ne wa! (Posted on Tuesday, January 11, 2005 at 05:19 p.m.) I've finally recovered from my fever, but it took another day and some isolation because of stress. In fact, I'm putting my New Year's Resolution in action yesterday. But ever since I recovered, I'm making a bold move by merging the AAT1 & AAT2 pages. The transfer took about two weeks to finish, but I'm now in the home stretch. I'll finish merging the Major Arcana pages later, because this is the last part of my update. I'll tell more in my last update. Last Wednesday, The Amazing Race went up where we left off, from the Net Cafe in Budapest. After a bump on the gates, teams went on a train ride. AFter that, they had to go SWIMming in a water polo pool or RAFT on the Danube in the Detour. Teams then ate a big bowl of very spicy soup. Lori & Bolo may be stuck at Eger, but lucky for an early train, they caught up, picked up a Fast Forward, drank some blood and checked in first. Gus & Hera, on the other hand, were the only ones who rowed and never recovered. Here's the leaderboard as of last Wednesday's episode:
This moment's Galaxy Angels screen shots: Madam Lanhua, what does the coming year offer for me? Ja ne wa! (Posted on Tuesday, January 4, 2005 at 05:00 p.m.) Bad luck hit me since last Satuday night. I got the fever (no thanks for my brother using the electric fan when it's cold outside). I got sick the next day, virtually kept me offline all day Sunday. I was supposed to be offline that day, but it happened not in the way I planned. I recovered the next day (Monday), but up until now, I still got slight headaches, and some of my taste buds are still not working. I'm hoping that but my tomorrow, I would officially declare myself well. This is the first impromptu entry of the year. I'll keep you updated with the screencaps of the NHK Kouhaku and my Amazing Race Update later in the week. Ja ne wa! (Posted on Thursday, December 30, 2004 at 09:54 p.m.) Well, Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch has ended its run last Saturday and it ended happily. This is the very first anime that I followed through the internet without watching it (I have to watch it later when I download the WMV episodes). This anime went on for about a year and nine months, which is also how long I spent being unemployed after I graduated. Speaking of being unemployed.... I have only one item for my New Year's resolution: Find a job that's suitable for my tastes; no if's or but's. There were many reasons why I hold back having a job. And twice I almost got one. The first is for an IT company as a junior programmer. But at my interview (which fell on my birthday, February 18), I decided to decline the offer because of the contract bond and the potential long hours I may have (vacation hours that may be lost because of it). The second was when I trained for abstractor last October. But after the first week, I was eliminated. But for me, there was no turning back. That's why finding a job is my only New Year's resolution. Going places something I can do. And any other New Year's resolution might follow afterwards. For now... Tomorrow's the night for NHK Kouhaku, the annual song fest in Japan that has J-Pop fans talking. Here's this year's roster of performers:
This moment's Galaxy Angels screen shots: Lanhua: "WHAT? BIN LADEN ESCAPED?" Weird Professor: "What will President Bush say if he knows this?" This will be my last entry for the year. So to everyone: HAPPY NEW YEAR! Ja ne wa! (Posted on Tuesday, December 28, 2004 at 12:24 p.m.) I'm sorry I didn't make my own recap on last Wednesday's The Amazing Race because not only am I busy with things, but also of the very reason I'll below. Last Wednesday, The Amazing Race went from Germany into somewhere in Hungary. Before leaving Germany, each team had a standing Bungee Roadblock. Once at Hungary, teams drove jalopies to Eger for a Cannonball Run-Catapult Toss Detour. Everybody ended up carrying cannons and cannonballs. Then it's back into Budapest, where their next clue was in computers in an internet cafe there. But unfortunately, our buck stops here, and we end this episode with the pro wrestlers Lori & Bolo stuck in Eger (where the Detour was) while everybody else were logging on. Here's the leaderboard as of the end of last Wednesday's episode (in order of their arrival in the Net Cafe):
Wednesday after tomorrow? Yes. Because tomorrow's episode will be just a recap of what happened so far in the Race. In connection with my last post on Survivor: Vanuatu; I've taken two videos, one of Tribal Council voting by the jury, and the other when those votes were announced, giving Chris the win. Both are 3GP files (zipped, because 3GP cannot be viewed as is), so be sure you have RealPlayer in your computer (or any program that can play 3GP files). I still have more to say, but this is what I'll post for now. Until next time.... Ja ne wa! (Posted on Thursday, December 16, 2004 at 05:19 p.m.) Last Monday, I bought a crossword dictionary. That would help me answer daily crossword puzzle that I have interest in answering for the last four months. Though it doesn't replace the dictionary (the one with definitions and all), the crossword dictionary is a good tool, especially that I don't have a thesaurus. With these, I finished a daily crossword puzzle for the first time. Below is the crossword puzzle I answered yesterday. I know I have handwriting that can be left to be desired. ![]() I decided to waive the Survivor recap in my last post. But let's cut to the chase and I'll tell what happened in the last two episodes of Survivor: Vanuatu. I'll make this short and sweet. Julie won the reward challenge so she could strategize more with Chris. But this didn't work out, because although Eliza sided with Julie in ousting Scout, Chris joined Twila and Scout to oust Julie. Day 37 came and Eliza and Twila still had their odds against each other. Chris saw this as a chance. The immunity challenge came and Chris fought tooth and nail with Twila. But he eventually won the challenge. With chances growing slim on her, Eliza tried to talk Chris into a purple rock situation. But it seemed everybody hated Eliza and she joined Colby, Lex, Sean, Roger, Matt, Burton, and Boston Rob, who all won a car, but not the million. The next day, it was all reminiscing as the said to be "taboo island" just happens to be across camp. Twila, Scout, and Chris passed through fifteen torches (all those who went, from Brook to Eliza), and then gave the lucky stone and the chieftain staffs as tokens for the great Roy Matta. The last immunity challenge involved holding a warrior pose with a bow and arrow for a long time without piercing through the paper marker. Scout's artificial knee could not her weight any longer, so she dropped out earlier. Chris tried to have a deal with Twila to jump off, she refused. But she was eliminated anyway, and he won immunity. Chris opted to keep Twila, and what happened afterwards was an emotional final vote. Julia, LeAnn, and Eliza were visibly pissed at Twila, and Sarge and Chad were doubtful of Chris. It all came to a final vote of 5-2 for CHRIS! Considering that he let Lopevi down in the first immunity challenge and him being the last man standing surrounded by six women, he breezed through them all. Next up: Survivor: Palau. Palau is a paradise archipelago that used to be a war zone. Twenty new survivors will begin a completely new game. How will it figure? It starts sometime early next year. For now... The Amazing Race will be the one to take my viewing pleasure (aside from The Apprentice). Since the latest leg was shown yesterday, might as well take advantage. Yesterday, The Amazing Race went from Senegal back to Europe; Germany to be exact. But first, they left roses for the African slaves who were tortured in a prison before being sent to the New World. Gus even shed tears, rediscovering some of his roots. Once in Berlin, they searched for a clue box in the Berlin Wall and then went to a sculpture of broken chains. Then teams went for a Beer-Brat Detour. Then it's up to the "Devil Mountain" to do some soap box derby. Don & Mary Jean got lost finding the sculpture and never fought back. They did gain money from the other teams, but they were still eliminated. Here's the leaderboard as of the end of last Wednesday's episode:
Where to next? It seemed that they would stay in Europe. But we'll see next time. This moment's Galaxy Angels screen shot: Fire in the hole. Mario the yellow robot talking Princess Millefuille away! Ja ne wa! (Posted on Tuesday, December 14, 2004 at 05:25 p.m.) For this week, I will waive writing my comments for last Friday's episode for Survivor. That's because, the finale was shown just yesterday. So I have to digest about who came after Ami and who eventually won Survivor Vanuatu and write about it later in the week. For now, I would talk about what happened the Amazing Race On last Wednesday, The Amazing Race went from Sweden, down to Africa. The teams figured a former poet and president of Senegal and went to his grave (after some scrambling for some and wrong turns for others). Then, they were led to a town called Kayar, where teams went for a Detour where they would Pull 'Em Up (do some fishing) or Stack 'Em Up (laying some fish). Then it's onto aptly named Lac Rose (Pink Lake) where there was a Roadblock of gathering salt. Then it's back to Dakar and went Ile de Goree, an former prison for slaves. Don got seasick at the Pull 'Em Up Detour, and Mary Jean had to harvest salt at Roadblock. They ended up last, but were not eliminated. But like the Bowling Moms, Kami & Karli, Brandon & Nicole, and Colin & Christie in the last season, the old couple were stripped of every cent they had. Here's the leaderboard as of the end of last Wednesday's episode:
Where to next? Staying in Africa, it seems. But we'll see tomorrow. This moment's Galaxy Angels screen shot: Millefeuille the flower Ja ne wa! Writing Summaries, The Amazing Race, and Survivor (Posted on Tuesday, December 7, 2004 at 01:02 a.m.) Just in time for the Yuletide season, this blog now uses a crimson background, since red is way too intense for the eyes. I even retained the green color scheme for the links at the right, to follow the Christmas theme. But I also used the banner supporting The Amazing Race and I used the deuces from my Anime Playing Cards to represent the teams. But this special Christmas scheme will not last long as the others. I may change the appearance next year. For now, enjoy! For the last week, I've been spending the week writing and rewriting episode summaries for the anime Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch at the Mother Symphony Forums. It started as an ongoing project because most episode summaries on most websites with only episodes from 1 to 21. My objective back then was to write the summaries from 22 to 52. But when the Mother Symphony Boards changed BBS providers (from phpBB from Invision Board), those already wrote have lost (when I went far enough). So I have to rewrite them all over again, to my own chagrin. On last Wednesday, The Amazing Race went from Norway to Sweden. Teams went to the bar made entirely of ice. After that, they went to an Ikea store to four A Count It-Build It Detour. Those who Count-ed, became exhausted, while those who Build-ed installed a cabinet. After that, teams went to Häggvik to find some clues hidden in rolls of hay. There was a Yield before that, but all nine teams decided to pass. Then it was back to Stockholm to check into the Pit Stop. Lena & Kristy tried to find their clue in a lot of bales. But they took so long that Phil Keoghan had to go out to tell them they're eliminated anyway. So like Marshall & Lance last season, they became the second ever team to be eliminated before they even checked in. Here's the leaderboard as of the end of last Wednesday's episode:
Where to next? It seems that they're headed to Africa. But we'll see next Wednesday. On last Friday's episode of Survivor: Vanuatu, Chris was seeing lights in the end of his tunnel when he finally saw a crack in the women's armor. Reward challenge started with the introduction of the prize: A BRAND NEW CAR! Plus, with the next two would join the winner on a trip a Vanuatuan resort. After swimming and diving, Eliza won the car, with Ami and Chris joining her. Will Eliza follow Colby, Lex, Sean, Roger, Matt, Burton, and Boston Rob in winning a car and be voted off later? We'll see. For this moment, Chris and Eliza schemed on Ami's ouster while savoring the reward (a new bath), Julie became disgruntled on what's up with Scout. In the immunity challenge, the Survivors played a version of shuffleboard, where immunity meant gaining and losing islands. Chris took his chances and paid off. Ami tried to push one of Chris's pucks off an island, but to no avail. Chris won immunity and it's instant cannibalism among the girls. At tribal council, the swingers once again joined Eliza and Chris in successfully ousting Ami, the puppet master, off Vanuatu. This Friday, as everybody sings "ding dong, the witch is dead," Twila finally switched on her claws, while Scout and Julie clash. This moment's Galaxy Angels screen shot: If Lanhua were a boy, she better call Queer Eye for the Straight Guy's Thom Felicia. Ask Millefeuille. Ja ne wa! |
